Outdoor legend and former Commissioner McCollum dies at 81

STUTTGART — Marion McCollum, who served as an Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioner from 1995-2002, died June 21 in Stuttgart at the age of 81.

$4 million available for private landowners adding winter migratory bird habitat

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Private Lands Habitat Division is looking for landowners who want to put more waterfowl and shorebird habitat on the ground this winter, and thanks to a new initiative through the Natural Resources Conservation Service, there’s an additional $4 million in incentives to landowners to make it happen.

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission heard and approved plans at Thursday’s regular meeting to begin the construction of a new spillway system at Craig D. Campbell Lake Conway Reservoir and the subsequent renovation of the 6,700-acre lake in central Arkansas.
