Austin Kennedy, a guide on the tailwater of Beaver Lake dam, caught this rainbow trout earlier this week. Most of the dams in north Arkansas are generating, having to move lots of water off their lakes.

Invasive aquatic plant found at Lake Erling

BRADLEY — Biologists with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have confirmed the presence of Giant Salvinia in a small portion of Lake Erling in Lafayette County. This is the second occurrence of the invasive plant in Arkansas, with the first being in Smith Park Lake in Miller County in 2017.

Snow goose hunt planned to benefit Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry

STUTTGART — A new, friendly competition may be a great way to bring awareness to a conservation issue and help feed needy families in Arkansas this February. The first World Championship Snow Goose Conservation Hunt competition will take place, Feb. 9-10 at Mack’s Prairie Wings in Stuttgart.
