MAMMOTH SPRING — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has canceled its upcoming public workshop at the Mammoth Spring School Complex on March 21 concerning the new trout management plan for the Spring River.
The cancellation is the result of increased efforts to prevent potential health risks in light of current events.
Christy Graham, AGFC Trout Management Program supervisor, says the decision was not easy, as there has been excellent participation and feedback so far in the planning process.
“We want to continue this process and we will continue to work to complete the plan, we just need to make adjustments to how we gather feedback and communicate our recommendations about the fishery moving forward,” Graham said. “Within a couple of weeks, we will send out information about how we plan to incorporate new strategies in the management plan and will work to make sure all interested parties have a chance to continue in the planning process.”
