LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will again offer a variety of free options to have harvested deer tested for chronic wasting disease during the 2021-22 deer hunting season. In all, 105 testing locations will be available throughout the state to have your deer tested for CWD.

Gov. Hutchinson unveils Arkansas Duck Stamp at National Hunting and Fishing Day proclamation

LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Asa Hutchinson unveiled the artwork that will appear on the 2021-22 Arkansas State Duck Stamp today at his official proclamation of Sept. 25 as National Hunting and Fishing Day in Arkansas and the week leading up to it as Arkansas Hunting and Fishing Week. The proclamation, which took place at the Arkansas State Capitol Rotunda, signifies the importance of hunting, fishing and outdoors recreation to The Natural State.

AGFC provides $769,000 to Arkansas schools for conservation education

LITTLE ROCK — Commissioners with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission passed a minute order at today’s meeting to transfer $769,564 to the Arkansas Division of Rural Services to offer grants for conservation education efforts throughout Arkansas. The money was collected during the last year from fines for wildlife and fishing regulations violations.

Arkansas alligator season opens Sept. 17

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansans looking for adventure in the wetlands may want to call a friend in south Arkansas to see if there’s an opportunity to take part in this year’s private land alligator hunt Sept. 17-20 and Sept. 24-27. While public hunting opportunities have all been awarded through the AGFC’s draw process in July, private land hunting for alligators follows a quota system that offers more opportunities for people who weren’t lucky enough to draw a public hunting permit.
