Leftover WMA turkey hunt permits available online March 12

LITTLE ROCK – If you didn’t draw a wildlife management area turkey hunt permit during the regular drawing, there’s still a chance to get a spot to hunt some of Arkansas’s most popular WMAs. All leftover permits will be available at www.agfc.com on a first-come, first-served online sale beginning 8 a.m., March 12.

Offer input on largemouth bass regulations at lakes Dunn and Austell

WYNNE - On Tuesday, March 20, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a public input meeting regarding fisheries management for largemouth bass on Lake Dunn and Lake Austell. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the visitor center of Village Creek State Park at 201 County Road 754 in Wynne.

AGFC, Quail Forever hosting landowner workshop in Monticello

USDA program removes 615 feral hogs from WMAs and private land

LITTLE ROCK – Last week, crews from the Arkansas and Tennessee/Kentucky U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Missouri Department of Conservation, removed 615 feral hogs on both public and private land in northeast and southeast Arkansas. Feral hogs were removed from Trusten Holder, Cut-off Creek, Choctaw Island and Big Lake wildlife management areas and adjoining private lands.

Murfreesboro takes top honors at state archery competition

HOT SPRINGS – The Rattler Senior High Archery Team from Murfreesboro placed one boy and two girls in the top 10 of their respective divisions and slipped away with the team title in the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program state championship last Saturday at Bank of the Ozarks Arena.

Fourche Bottoms cleanup Saturday

LITTLE ROCK – The Friends of Fourche Creek will host their annual City Wide Cleanup, beginning at 8 a.m., March 10. All interested participants can meet inside the Arkansas State Fairgrounds northwest lot. Cleanup assignments will be made at the rally point (2600 Howard Street, Little Rock).
