Arkansas girl already getting it done at 7 years old

As a precocious 7-year-old, Brinlee Usdrowski has already had the kind of hunting experiences that many adult hunters only dream of. It wasn’t that just a year ago, during modern gun deer season, then 6-year-old Brinlee took down two deer with one shot. That was only the beginning. She proceeded to down a gobbler in April during the youth hunt weekend. Then a 300-pound black bear this fall, with a crossbow. Only to follow all that up with a nice 8-point buck during muzzleloader season.

Weekly waterfowl report begins Nov. 15

As the minutes tick away to opening day of waterfowl season, every duck hunter starts focusing on frigid conditions and starts to get geared up for the main event in Arkansas’s hunting season lineup. Coffee shops across the Grand Prairie will be showing just as much Weather Channel as they will college football as hunters keep an eye on cold fronts and rain bringing the next wave of “new ducks” to fields and flooded timber. Northwest Arkansas nature center groundbreaking held

Amid a clear blue sky and unseasonably warm temperatures, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission broke ground last week on the planned Northwest Arkansas nature center. The ceremony was held on the 61-acre site along Spring Creek in Springdale.

The Beautiful Buffalo River Action Committee announced the launch of its website Monday. BBRAC created an independent website to share relevant information regarding the preservation of the Buffalo River as a state and national landmark. The website provides information about BBRAC, useful resources and engagement opportunities for the public.

AGFC hosting quail habitat workshops for landowners

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has partnered with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Arkansas Association of Conservation Districts to host five special quail-focused workshops throughout the state on Nov. 7 and Nov. 9.

Special youth deer hunt coming up Nov. 4-5

Arkansas' "big" deer season is approaching, but kids will get first shot.The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's Special Youth Modern Gun Deer Hunt is set for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4-5, across the state. The hunt is open in all private land zones and most wildlife management areas. The only areas not open on those days will be wildlife management areas where permits are required for deer hunting.
