Fouke first among Arkansas’s trap-shooting teams

JACKSONVILLE — The Fouke “Claybusters” Senior Trapshooting Team took top honors at Saturday’s finale of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Youth Shooting Sports Program State Championship, held at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex. The Claybusters climbed to the top of a heap of 64 of the best trap-shooting teams in the state to claim their place in legendary fashion, narrowly defeating a powerfully competitive Harrisburg Hornets “Castaways” team in the final round of competition.

Fouke, Magnolia take Youth Shooting Sports South Regional tournament

JACKSONVILLE — A tightly contested South Regional Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program Senior Division was won by the Fouke Claybusters Trap Shooting Team with a score of 237 out of 250 attempts. The event was held Friday and Saturday at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

Beebe seniors, Southside juniors take North Region shooting sports titles

JACKSONVILLE — Beebe Shooting Sports’ senior Team White dethroned defending regional champion Mountain Home Bomb Squad as the best in the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program’s North Region, while Southside Jr. Shooting Sports’ Squad A from Independence County was tops among North Region junior teams in the first weekend of AYSSP tournament action at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

Youth Shooting Sports regionals begin April 29-30 at Jacksonville range

JACKSONVILLE – Everything is back to normal, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission organizers say, with the return of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program championships, scheduled for five of the next six weekends at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

Dr. Doyne and Nancy Williams Endowment funds ‘Champion’ scholarship

Dr. Doyne Williams (second from right) attended the AYSSP Senior State Championship on June 5 at the Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex and presented a "check" signifying the $2,500 in scholarship money that will go to De Queen's Konnor Shelton (center), the 2021 Champion of Champions winner. WIliams and his wife, Nancy, All-American trapshooters and avid supporters of youth shooting sports, endowned $100,000 to fund the scholarship.
