Backcountry Hunters and Anglers hosting deer hunting field day

MAYFLOWER — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will partner with the Arkansas chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers to help people get into gear for this year’s upcoming deer hunting season. The two organizations will host a special field day from 9 a.m.-noon August 21 at the Multipurpose Building of Camp Robinson Special Use Area in Mayflower.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson proclaims June 11-13 Free Fishing Weekend in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK – Thanks to a proclamation by Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Thursday, anyone may fish in Arkansas without a fishing license or trout stamp from noon Friday, June 11, through midnight Sunday night, June 13. The proclamation was read at the beginning of the Commission's May meeting by Megan Perkins, agriculture liaison to Hutchinson’s office.

PARON — Many people have rediscovered the outdoors since COVID-19 arrived and forced most organized sports and gatherings to shut down. Record sales of fishing and camping equipment and crowded boat ramps and trailheads all speak to the renewed interest Arkansans have in our natural world. One conservation-minded group has gone the extra distance to help protect these resources amid the increased usage.
