Curtis Priest made a trophy catch recently on Lake Hamilton. Fishing in an Arkansas Bass Team Trail tournament, Priest hauled in this bass weighing about 10.5 pounds. A fin clip was collected by tournament organizers for subsequent genetic evaluation.

James Clingan sent us a rarity for the Weekly Fishing Report, a catch of a sauger by James' girlfriend, Ashley, at Lock and Dam 5 on the Arkansas River. "It's her very first catch. Talk about excited," James said.

Mike Casey Sr., a finance professor at the University of Central Arkansas, caught a few keeper crappie in Lake Conway on Dec. 20 with his colleague Tom Snyder. Chris Hunter of Chicago caught a boatload of big fish at Bull Shoals Lake in recent days while fishing with guide Del Colvin. This walleye was an armful. His catch also included a big striped bass and some very large smallmouth bass, among his total haul. Del says the fishing is good at Bull Shoals even if you probably need to bundle up.
