Brandon Pellham caught this 26.5-inch-long brown trout at Parker Bottoms in the Beaver Lake tailwater last Friday. Brandon was using a 2.5-inch Rapala Husky Jerk Minnow on a Fenwick HMG Rod, Mitchell308 reel with a 6-pound Power Pro Braid. Brandon released the trout back to the tailwater after this photo; perhaps another angler will catch it someday, he said. Photo provided by Jeremy Brown.

AGFC to plug leaking infrastructure at Lake Wilhelmina

MENA — Contractors working with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will close the portion of Polk County Road 125 that crosses the levee of Lake Wilhelmina Aug. 11 to attempt to plug leaking infrastructure that has plagued the lake for the last two summers.

Lake Elmdale erosion-repair project gets nod from commissioners to start

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioners gave the go-ahead April 23 to use $1,000,000 from AGFC coffers to begin work on repairing the spillway at Lake Elmdale in Northwest Arkansas.
