Collin Bryant of Memphis caught what he said was "the catch of a lifetime" last Thursday (Sept. 14) on the Spring River at Mammoth Spring, a 20-inch brown trout, his personal best. After this photo, he released it back to the Spring.

Russ Hannah caught this nice brown trout on a guppie pattern while fishing with Spring River guide Mark Crawford recently. The Spring River, though spring-fed, has been low like most of Arkansas's lakes and streams lately, but the fish are biting.
AGFC stocks nearly half-million shad into Greers Ferry Lake

HEBER SPRINGS — Biologists with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission boosted the food chain at Greers Ferry Lake this week with the release of at least 476,000 threadfin shad from the lake’s nursery pond near Mill Creek Recreation Area.

HOT SPRINGS — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Fishing Education Program is joining forces with USA Bass and USAngling to put on a special youth fishing education event during the upcoming 2023 Pan American Bass Fishing Championship 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery on Lake Hamilton.
