Commission visiting Hope in March for next public comment workshop

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a special open forum for the public at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana campus on March 18. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in Hempstead Hall, 500 S. Main St., in Hope.

LITTLE ROCK - Gov. Asa Hutchinson signed a special proclamation today in the Governor’s Conference Room at the state capitol recognizing Sept. 22-28, 2019, as Arkansas Hunting and Fishing Week. He also proclaimed Sept. 28, 2019, as National Hunting and Fishing Day in Arkansas.

Governor Hutchinson announces Anne Marie Doramus as new Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioner

LITTLE ROCK ​– Governor Asa Hutchinson today announced the appointment of Anne Marie Doramus of Little Rock to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. She is the first woman appointed to a full term on the commission in the state’s history.

Overton blended fun with a serious side as AGFC commissioner

LITTLE ROCK – It’s often been noted by his fellow commissioners and the staff of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission how much levity Ford Overton has interjected into their meetings the last seven years. He lives a mantra that, in turn, he urged his other commissioners and AGFC personnel to adopt when he passed on the gavel as chairman at the June monthly Commission meeting last week: “Everybody works so hard. Y’all need to keep this fun. You need to have fun.”

Commission approves discounted licenses for disabled veterans, proposes relaxed seasons on predator species

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission voted unanimously to create a new Disabled Veteran Lifetime Combination License that would be available at a reduced rate for resident military veterans meeting certain criteria during today’s regularly scheduled meeting.
