Become an outdoors-woman with AGFC

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will open online enrollment in this year’s Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop June 4-30. The workshop, which introduces women 18 and older to various outdoors activities, will be held Sept. 28-30 at the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center in Ferndale.

HOT SPRINGS - Lake Ouachita reigns as one of the best fisheries in Arkansas. Its crystal clear waters accommodate many species of fish that anglers of all types enjoy. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is undergoing its scheduled review and revision process for the lake’s fisheries management plan, and would like to hear directly from the anglers who use this treasured resource.
Agency cooperation deals with dangerous barbed-wire line

REYDELL – Barbed-wire fencing or any other obstruction to boating cannot be placed across navigable waters in Arkansas, per state law and sometimes federal law, depending on the water body. Not only is it illegal, but it can also present a safety concern to boaters. However, situations do arise at times where landowners or lessors of hunting and fishing property mistake their rights on waters that legally are considered navigable and open to the public.
