LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a special Becoming an Outdoors-Woman weekend getaway, Oct. 6-8 at the C.A. Vines 4 H Center in Little Rock with workshops throughout each day to help ladies learn how to hunt, fish and be a larger part of conservation in Arkansas.

HOT SPRINGS — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Fishing Education Program is joining forces with USA Bass and USAngling to put on a special youth fishing education event during the upcoming 2023 Pan American Bass Fishing Championship 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery on Lake Hamilton.

But traveling on a river like the Arkansas and navigating some of Arkansas’s shallower, more cover-filled reservoirs can be a daunting task for people who don’t know what all those buoys and channel markers mean. LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission unanimously approved a special free fishing day during today’s regularly scheduled meeting at AGFC Headquarters. Anyone will be able to fish in Arkansas without a fishing license or trout permit Aug. 23.

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation will induct six new members to the Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame including the recipients of its Legacy Award and the Steve Smith Spirit of Giving Award at the Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet Aug. 26, at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

New AGFC Fisheries chief Laird hatches plan for tackling big projects
