Forest management and recovery work beginning in Bayou Meto

Contractors with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will begin the first stage of forest management and recovery on George H. Dunklin Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area in Arkansas County this week, thanks in part to abnormally dry conditions this summer.
AGFC sharpens conservation plan

LITTLE ROCK — Conservation plans for the future were the front-running topics at today’s meeting of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission at its Little Rock Headquarters.
In his report to the Commission, Director Austin Booth spoke about the agency’s newly developed strategic plan and annual report, which were both unveiled last night at a meeting with partner agencies and stakeholders.
Blue paint marks habitat renovation

HUMNOKE — Public land hunters will be seeing a number of trees at George H. Dunklin Jr. Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area marked with blue paint. The markings reflect the second step in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s efforts to restore the state’s crown jewel of public waterfowl hunting.
Meetings scheduled to provide details on duck season water level and forest management changes
