AGFC sharpens conservation plan

LITTLE ROCK — Conservation plans for the future were the front-running topics at today’s meeting of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission at its Little Rock Headquarters.

In his report to the Commission, Director Austin Booth spoke about the agency’s newly developed strategic plan and annual report, which were both unveiled last night at a meeting with partner agencies and stakeholders.

Commission authorizes funding for critical habitat-enhancement projects

SPRINGDALE – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission authorized $760,000 to be allocated to five engineering projects vital for fish and wildlife conservation during today’s meeting. The meeting took place at the newly constructed J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center, preceding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the location.

Joe Morgan, vice-chairman of AGFC, dies at 76

LITTLE ROCK — Joe Morgan, the vice-chairman of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, died Saturday morning from complications of pulmonary fibrosis. He was 76 years old.
