JONESBORO – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has secured a $2 million grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to be used in the construction of a new shooting sports complex for northeast Arkansas.

ARKADELPHIA – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Clark County Conservation District and Quail Forever invite all landowners with an interest in restoring northern bobwhite habitat on their property to a special dinner and workshop to learn more about how they can benefit quail in The Natural State. The workshop will be in the Alcoa Room of the Henderson State University Community Education Center, Feb. 8 beginning at 6 p.m.
NRCS announces incentive program for feral swine management

More than $600,000 available for education thanks to wildlife fine money

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Division of Rural Services has more than $600,000 in grant money to give to Arkansas schools and educators for programs in 2018, thanks to fines derived from wildlife violations. The application deadline for fiscal year 2018 grants is Oct. 26, 2017.
AGFC receives funding for one quail biologist, seeks approval for six more

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, which has already received matching funds from the Natural Resources Conservation Service to bring aboard a biologist devoted to habitat restoration for the northern bobwhite, is hoping that more NRCS money could be coming its way to bolster the AGFC’s quail initiative.
