South Arkansas bear hunt highlights 2022 harvest

LITTLE ROCK — With a shortened three-day hunt window, hunters in south Arkansas’s much-anticipated bear season took full advantage of their December hunt, totalling 28 bears harvested in newly opened Bear Zone 4 from Dec. 10-12. Bear hunters in other portions of the state saw success as well.

LITTLE ROCK — Tens of thousands of young hunters will be hitting the field Nov. 5 and 6, and if they’re lucky they’ll be taking pictures wearing their hunter orange posing with their deer. Make sure the experience goes as smoothly as possible by ensuring that they have a customer ID number ready to check the deer in their name.

LITTLE ROCK — Hunters headed to deer camp to get things ready for opening weekend of modern gun deer season may want to make a quick pitstop to fuel up at their local Hardee’s restaurant. Every Hardee’s restaurant in Arkansas will give a free sausage biscuit to anyone who shows their valid hunting license to the cashier during each restaurant’s normal breakfast hours Thursday, Nov. 10.

Arkansas tracking group recovers deer, memories

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas’s deer archery season opens Sept. 24, and a few enthusiastic bowhunters have already begun chasing deer through special urban bowhunting opportunities throughout the state. While most archers, as well as hunters using rifles or muzzleloaders, recover their deer with a fairly fast fast tracking job, every now and then a deer gives hunters the slip before it succumbs to the shot. The Arkansas Blood-trailing Network is available to help hunters leave the woods with the meat and the memories that come from successful outings.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission sets 2023-24 waterfowl season dates, passes bear season expansion
