LITTLE ROCK — Duck hunters have been cleaning and painting decoys, scouting property, brushing blinds and cleaning shotguns in anticipation of the opening day of duck season on Nov. 21. Every year a handful of them forget their most important pieces of equipment: a valid hunting license, including federal and state duck stamps and Harvest Information Program registration.

LITTLE ROCK — Hunters headed to deer camp to get things ready for opening weekend of modern gun deer season may want to make a quick pit stop to fuel up at their local Hardee’s restaurant. Every Hardee’s restaurant in Arkansas will give a free sausage biscuit to anyone who shows their valid hunting license to the cashier from 5-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Apply for a chance at Arkansas’s largest trophy fish in 2021

LITTLE ROCK – The application period to catch and keep a trophy-size Arkansas alligator gar opens Nov. 1 and closes Dec. 31. Only 100 tags will be awarded for the 2021 calendar year. This tag is required to harvest an alligator gar larger than 36 inches.

LINCOLN – Clay Connor’s rendering of a quail sitting on barbed-wire fencing above shrubby cover and native grasses, entitled “Beyond the Wire at Summits Ridge,” was unveiled Saturday, Sept. 12, as the image on the 2020-21 Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Northern Bobwhite Conservation Stamp in a ceremony held at nearby Historic Cane Hill.

AGFC waives fishing license requirement during extended spring break in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, in cooperation with Gov. Asa Hutchinson, voted during a specially called meeting today to waive all fishing license and trout permit requirements for residents and nonresidents starting this weekend at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, March 21 through 11:59 p.m Sunday, March 29.
