While regular duck season is on a 10-day hiatus in Arkansas, hunters can harvest specks through Friday and again from Sunday until Dec. 23, with the final segment running Dec. 26-Jan.31 concurrent with duck season. Mallards haven't made it to Arkansas in big numbers yet, but the numbers seen in November's aerial survey were in line with the long-term average, as waterfowl season opened in The Natural State last Saturday.
