AGFC seeks public input on turkey management plan revision

LITTLE ROCK — Biologists with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission are seeking public input on the current revision to Arkansas’s Strategic Wild Turkey Management Plan. The plan was last reviewed in 2012, and this revision will be scheduled for formal review again in 10 years to adapt to changing needs in Arkansas’ turkey flock and conditions on the landscape.

Continued angler involvement helps shape management plan for DeGray Lake

BISMARK — Thanks to the input of Arkansas anglers who participated in public workshops last year as well as the results of a tremendous amount of data collection on the fish populations, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recently developed its 2019 Fishery Management Plan for DeGray Lake. The plan will help guide management decisions about the fishery in the lake during the next 5 years.

AGFC hosts public meetings on future of Lake Columbia fishery

MAGNOLIA — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a public input meeting regarding fisheries management on Lake Columbia at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 in the Grand Hall of the Reynolds Center at Southern Arkansas University. The center is at 100 East University Street in Magnolia.

AGFC to host public meetings on Greers Ferry Lake Fisheries Management Plan

HEBER SPRINGS — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will hold a public meeting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 28, at the Heber Springs Community Center to gather public input for the new Greers Ferry Lake Fisheries Management Plan.
 

Norfork and Bull Shoals tailwater workshop notes available online

Many proposed changes to fishing regulations on the White River and North Fork River below Bull Shoals and Norfork Dams may be pushed forward for public review in the next month, thanks to spirited conversations and debates at two focus groups concerning the latest review of those fisheries management plans.

Public input meeting scheduled for trout management on White and North Fork Rivers

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a special public workshop from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., August 3 at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center in Convention Center Rooms A and B to begin reviewing the trout management plans for the Bull Shoals and Norfork tailwaters. The center is located on the Arkansas State University Mountain Home campus.
