AGFC to try tiger trout hybrid in Bull Shoals tailwater

MAMMOTH SPRING – Tiger trout, a hybrid of brown trout and brook trout often stocked in waters in the western and northwestern United States, will be stocked for the first time in Arkansas within the next couple of weeks, according to Christy Graham, trout program coordinator for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
AGFC to host meeting on management of Bull Shoals and Norfork tailwaters

MOUNTAIN HOME - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will update all interested anglers about trout management and habitat work on the Bull Shoals and Norfork tailwaters in northern Arkansas at a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m., Aug.15. The meeting will be held at the Arkansas State University Mountain Home Campus in the McMullin Lecture Hall (Room D200) of Dryer Hall.
Cutthroat catch breaks 32-year state record

MOUNTAIN HOME – An Arkansas fishing mark that had held for nearly 33 years finally fell last weekend when a Kansas angler making an annual trek with friends to the White River pulled in a cutthroat trout weighing 10 pounds, 2 ounces. The catch was certified by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s chief of fisheries today.
Trout regulations adopted on Bull Shoals and Norfork tailwaters as part of revised management plans

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission accepted five changes to trout fishing regulations proposed for the Bull Shoals and Norfork tailwaters at a special meeting via teleconference today at the AGFC Headquarters in Little Rock.
The proposals are part of ongoing revisions to the formal trout management plans for the two tailwaters. During the last year, biologists have collected creel surveys, biological samples and mail-in surveys as well as held public focus group meetings to determine the best course of action for the trout fishery to meet the desires and expectations of the public. The regulations were presented to the Commission in October, and have been open to public comment for the last 30 days.
