Unfortunately, just like young humans, the bears may find themselves in some sticky situations as they learn the ropes of life without a net for the first time. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission usually sees an uptick in nuisance bear complaints each spring and almost all of the culprits are young males that are looking for new territory.
Arkansas Feral Hog Task Force offers new handbook to help control nuisance pigs

LITTLE ROCK – Thanks to a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service to the Arkansas Feral Hog Eradication Task Force, landowners will have more knowledge available than ever before in their fight against feral hogs. Last week, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture announced the release of the newly created Arkansas Feral Hog Handbook, a guide to resources available in Arkansas to assist with feral hog control and eradication.

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’s bear population has made the news on more than one occasion in the last few weeks. Arkansas Game and Fish Biologists have had to relocate some black bears from a few towns in The Natural State recently, with one even taking a stroll on the University of Arkansas’s campus. The uptick in sightings is fairly common for this time of the year, but there are a few things people can do to help keep these wild animals in the woods and out of trouble.

PINE BLUFF — Residents of a White Hall neighborhood had an early awakening Sunday morning as authorities responded to a call about a large black bear that had climbed into a tree nearby and had to be removed.

MOUNTAIN VIEW - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a special trapping workshop beginning at 9:30 on Sept. 29 at the Mountain View High School Fishing Derby Pond. Anyone interested in learning how to trap predators and other furbearers is welcome to attend and learn more about this interesting outdoor pursuit.
