AGFC cuts ribbon on new nature center attraction

SPRINGDALE – Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Chairman Bobby Martin and AGFC staff welcomed local leaders and community members today to cut the ribbon on a new playground at the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center in Springdale.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The National Wild Turkey Federation honored Arkansas Wildlife Officer 1st Class Audrey Bush with the National Wildlife Officer of the Year Award for her dedicated commitment to Arkansas’s natural resources. The award was presented to Bush this weekend at the 47th annual NWTF National Convention and Sport Show.

105 teams set for AGFC’s Archery in the Schools State Championship

LITTLE ROCK — Thousands of young archers throughout The Natural State took their places at the firing line last weekend to compete in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Archery in the Schools regional qualifying tournaments. At the close of competition, 105 teams were chosen to compete in this year’s state championship event, which will be held at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs, March 3-4.

AGFC and City of Benton take fishing in-depth through summer program

BENTON — A recent partnership between the City of Benton’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission may provide a template for success in introducing youth to the joys of angling in Arkansas. Four groups of children, aged 4 through 13, and their parents all had the opportunity to participate in a special multi-class fishing program at Benton’s River Center recreation complex.
