Southeast Arkansas WMAs closed March 8-13

MONTICELLO – Trusten Holder, Freddie Black Choctaw Island, Cut-Off Creek and Seven Devils wildlife management areas will be closed to daytime public access March 8-13. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be conducting aerial operations aimed at reducing feral hog populations on the areas. The flights will be dependent on the weather.

MONTICELLO – Due to a flight crew issue, the Cut-Off Creek WMA and Seven Devils WMA closures planned for this week have been cancelled. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission were scheduled to conduct aerial operations aimed at reducing feral hog populations on the areas. The flights may be rescheduled in March.

Cut-Off Creek and Seven Devils WMAs closed Feb. 22-27

MONTICELLO – Cut-Off Creek WMA and Seven Devils WMA will be closed to daytime public access Feb. 22-27. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be conducting aerial operations aimed at reducing feral hog populations on the areas. The flights will be dependent on the weather.

Portions of WMAs may be closed next week

LITTLE ROCK – Weather permitting, portions of Trusten Holder, Seven Devils, Cut-off Creek, Freddie Black Choctaw Island and St. Francis Sunken Lands Wildlife Management Areas may be closed to daytime public access next week. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, will be conducting aerial operations aimed at reducing feral hog populations on the WMAs.
