The Wild Science Webinar is a monthly series featuring Arkansas Game and Fish Commission staff and guest speakers presenting research and projects about Arkansas fish and wildlife. Joe Kaiser, Trout Management Biologist, will present "Spring River Brown Trout Growth and Diets" and Jess Schmit, master's student at the University of Arkansas, will present "Ain't no Rest for the Cryptid: Migration and Breeding Ecology of a Secretive Marshbird".

AGFC celebrates rebirth of Spring River hatchery

MAMMOTH SPRING — Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Chairman Bobby Martin loaded the first batch of rainbow trout Wednesday at the “ribbon-cutting” of the newly remodeled Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery in northeast Arkansas.

Golden rainbows return to White, Spring rivers

MOUNTAIN HOME — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission worked with Crystal Lake Fisheries, Inc., to stock an additional 8,000 rainbow trout in the White River below Bull Shoals Dam and 2,000 rainbow trout in the Spring River last week. Some of the trout stocked were golden rainbow trout, which have proven popular with Arkansas anglers the last few years.

Anglers can find additional golden rainbows in White River

NORFORK – More golden rainbow trout have been stocked in the White River system below Bull Shoals Lake dam. About 500 of the rainbow trout that have a color variation making them appear a bright golden yellow were part of a shipment of 10,000 rainbow trout stocked Monday from the access here to other points upriver toward the dam.

MAMMOTH SPRING — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has canceled its upcoming public workshop at the Mammoth Spring School Complex on March 21 concerning the new trout management plan for the Spring River.

MAMMOTH SPRING — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a second public workshop at the Mammoth Spring School Complex from 10 a.m. until noon Dec. 21 to talk about a new trout management plan specific to the Spring River. The Complex is at 410 Goldsmith Ave. in Mammoth Spring.
