Dunlap to deliver wildlife resources to teachers through northwest Arkansas nature center

SPRINGDALE — Teachers in northwest Arkansas will have a new resource available for class programming and field trips when the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center opens this fall, and some may recognize a familiar name when they call to ask about resources available to help them educate the next generation of hunters, anglers and other conservationists. Steve Dunlap, a 17-year veteran of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Education Division was recently chosen to lead educational programming for the center as well as outreach in the region.

AGFC announces director of new northwest Arkansas nature center

SPRINGDALE — Exhibits are under construction and the landscaping is still underway, but when the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center opens this fall, it will already have 25 years of experience manning the helm. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recently announced Schelly Corry, a transplant from Alabama with an extensive career in education and exhibit planning and management, to lead the team at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s newest nature center in Springdale.

AGFC receives Walton Family Foundation grant for Springdale nature center construction

BENTONVILLE – A grant from the Walton Family Foundation has been awarded to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The $980,000 grant will be used to help pay for construction of the state’s newest nature center currently under construction in Springdale.
 

Northwest Arkansas nature center exhibits evolve with technology

SPRINGDALE — Construction of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s latest nature center will begin next week. Contracts were signed last week with Branco Enterprises of Neosho, Mo., to begin construction of the center located in Springdale.

Amid a clear blue sky and unseasonably warm temperatures, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission broke ground last week on the planned Northwest Arkansas nature center. The ceremony was held on the 61-acre site along Spring Creek in Springdale.
