Task force mapping feral hog removal through online survey

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Feral Hog Eradication Task Force is unveiling a new tool to help coordinate the fight against invasive pests in The Natural State. A new mobile-friendly survey will enable any private landowner or hunter to upload information about feral hog sightings and removal efforts in Arkansas.
USDA program removes 615 feral hogs from WMAs and private land

LITTLE ROCK – Last week, crews from the Arkansas and Tennessee/Kentucky U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Missouri Department of Conservation, removed 615 feral hogs on both public and private land in northeast and southeast Arkansas. Feral hogs were removed from Trusten Holder, Cut-off Creek, Choctaw Island and Big Lake wildlife management areas and adjoining private lands.
Portions of Arkansas WMAs may be closed next week

LITTLE ROCK – Weather permitting, portions of Trusten Holder, Seven Devils, Cut-off Creek and Big Lake wildlife management areas may be closed to daytime public access next week. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, will be conducting aerial gunning operations on the WMAs aimed at reducing feral hog populations on the WMAs.
