Application period for online waterfowl hunts begins Nov. 14

LITTLE ROCK — Hunters looking for excellent opportunities to limited-access public hunting land can apply for special permit waterfowl hunts on three wildlife management areas and 11 private fields leased by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission beginning Nov. 14.

LITTLE ROCK — Hunters who haven’t found a lease but still want the opportunity to hunt agricultural land this duck season may want to turn to a WRICE field. “WRICE” isn’t a typo; it stands for Waterfowl Rice Incentive Conservation Enhancement, a new program from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to increase waterfowl habitat and hunting access in The Natural State.

LITTLE ROCK — Waterfowl season may be months away, but the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is busy working with private landowners to plant the seeds for food ducks, geese and other migrating birds will need during their migration. A new program is working to increase the amount of leftover crops available to ducks when they arrive in The Natural State.
