Five Rivers Trap Club smashes their way to AGFC Youth Shooting Sports state title

JACKSONVILLE — The Five Rivers Trap Club team from Pocahontas worked their way through a grueling competition in today’s heat at today’s senior division state championship event of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Youth Shooting Sports Program at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

 

Corning takes junior division title in Shooting Sports State Championship

JACKSONVILLE — After five weekends of stiff competition and a grueling six-match elimination championship, the young shooters from Corning Trap Team Squad 2 came out victorious at the 2023 state championship of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Youth Shooting Sports Program held today at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

JACKSONVILLE — What started out in April as a competition drawing nearly 5,400 young trap shooters ranging from fifth grade to seniors in high school has been whittled down to about 640 boys and girls who will compete this weekend (June 2-3) to be the best youth shooters in Arkansas.

SPARTA, Illinois – More than 80 young trap shooters who have been involved in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program participated in major world shooting tournaments in southern Illinois over two weeks in early August, and several returned home with championships or high honors.

Fouke first among Arkansas’s trap-shooting teams

JACKSONVILLE — The Fouke “Claybusters” Senior Trapshooting Team took top honors at Saturday’s finale of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Youth Shooting Sports Program State Championship, held at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex. The Claybusters climbed to the top of a heap of 64 of the best trap-shooting teams in the state to claim their place in legendary fashion, narrowly defeating a powerfully competitive Harrisburg Hornets “Castaways” team in the final round of competition.

State trap-shooting championship this weekend

LITTLE ROCK – When the top 64 teams from the senior division of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program meet at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex on June 4, those bearing the names Beebe, Fouke, Jacksonville and God’s Great Outdoors of Farmington will be carrying the top seeds going into their respective competition brackets. Junior teams will shoot June 3 with Magnolia, Corning, Southside and Alma squads filling the top seeds in their competition.

Fouke, Magnolia take Youth Shooting Sports South Regional tournament

JACKSONVILLE — A tightly contested South Regional Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program Senior Division was won by the Fouke Claybusters Trap Shooting Team with a score of 237 out of 250 attempts. The event was held Friday and Saturday at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.
