WMA Deer Bag Limit: Three deer, no more than two bucks, which may include:

  • Two bucks with archery, muzzleloader or modern gun,
  • Three does with archery,
  • Two does with muzzleloader and modern gun combined.
  • During youth hunt, youths may take three deer, two bucks (no antler restrictions) or up to two does.

Deer Notes:

  • Three-point rule.
  • No dogs.
2023-24 Quail

Nov. 1, 2023-Feb. 5, 2024. Daily limit - 6, possession limit -12. 

While training bird dogs, you may use handguns or shotguns with blank ammunition. Pen-raised quail may be taken with a Shoot-To-Kill Bird Dog Field Training Permit. This permit is available from your local wildlife officer.

2023-24 Rabbit

Sept. 1, 2023-Feb. 29, 2024. Daily limit - 8, possession limit - 16. 

2023-24 Squirrel

May 15, 2023-Feb. 29, 2024. Dogs allowed. Daily limit - 12, possession limit - 48.

2024 Turkey

Youth Hunt: April 6-7, 2024. One legal turkey.
Firearms Hunt: April 15-23, 2024. One legal turkey.

About the Name

Lee County WMA is named after the county it is in.

Access

The management can be accessed by Highway 131 turning North from Haynes. A county road off 131 can access the south end of the WMA.

Age

The area was established as a WMA in 1970.

No camping allowed.

Description

The management is comprised of old agricultural fields, which have been reforested providing a home for an abundance of wildlife including small game and an assortment of birds.

Hunting Opportunities

Hunting opportunities exist for deer, turkey and small game.

Lee County is located South of Haynes, Arkansas near Crowley's Ridge.

The small FMHA tract was deeded to the AGFC in 1991.

Haynes Arkansas provides the nearest opportunities for dining. A small store provides barbecues and sandwiches for the hungry visitor. A parking area is provided where 131 and the WMA converge

Safety

Lee County has a good population of rattlesnakes. When visiting, be cautious and observant.
