- Bottom Features
Lake has abundant standing timber, which was flooded when the lake was constructed. Most of these old trees have decayed above the normal lake level. Old snags are at or just below the surface, so boaters are urged to exercise caution when motoring. The southwest portion of the lake is shallow and can pose navigation challenges.

A pay campsite near the eastern boat ramp is operated by Grant County. Call the Grant County Judge's Office at 870-942-2551 for information on reservations and use.

Maximum depth near the levee of about 25 feet.
- Description
Cox Creek Lake was built by the AGFC in 1964 for public fishing on Cox Creek, a tributary to the Saline River. The lake has a single-wide concrete boat ramp with an adjacent courtesy dock. A handicapped-accessible wood fishing pier is next to the parking lot.

- Facilities
Grand County operates a campsite which provides water and electricity for campers. Reservations and fees are coordinated through the Grand County Judge's Office 870-942-2551. Grant County provides a restroom and shower facility at the campground.

About 15 miles southwest of Sheridan in Grant County (just west of Leola). Boat ramp is approximately 1 mile from Highway 46.
