Thirty-eight Arkansas draw public land alligator hunting permits, private land hunting still available

LITTLE ROCK — The drawing for Arkansas’s 2020-21 public land alligator season permits is complete, and 38 hunters have been notified of drawing their permit. If you weren’t one of the lucky few who scored a public land permit this year, there’s still plenty of opportunity to bag a gator in The Natural State. Thanks to a new quota-hunt system, anyone with access to private land in the southern half of the state has an opportunity to go on an alligator hunt.

Northeast Arkansas field joins list for permitted dove hunts

JONESBORO – Dove hunters will have more than 300 acres of privately owned farmland available via drawn permit for the early weeks of Arkansas’s 2020 dove season, which opens Saturday, Sept. 5. Several regions of the state have been represented by the private land permit hunts in the past three years since the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission initiated the program, but this year will mark the first time a northeast Arkansas field has been part of the roster.

Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet Postponed Until 2021, ‘Super Silent’ Auction in the Works

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation announced last Thursday the annual Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet, scheduled for August 29 in Little Rock, would not be held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s inductees and award recipients will be moved to 2021.

AGFC buildings reopening to public access July 15

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will reopen its doors to public access for the first time since March beginning this Wednesday. All buildings will have limited public access as part of the state’s reopening process.
