Applications for 2018 summer internships available

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is accepting applications for summer internships until Feb. 28, 2018. These internships, funded by sales of the AGFC’s Conservation License Plates, let students gain hands-on training and experience needed to compete for a future career in conservation.
Bobwhite restoration workshop for landowners Feb. 8

ARKADELPHIA – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Clark County Conservation District and Quail Forever invite all landowners with an interest in restoring northern bobwhite habitat on their property to a special dinner and workshop to learn more about how they can benefit quail in The Natural State. The workshop will be in the Alcoa Room of the Henderson State University Community Education Center, Feb. 8 beginning at 6 p.m.

Commission allows carry of handguns for personal protection on WMAs

LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission approved a regulation change today which will allow people to openly carry a handgun for personal protection while on any wildlife management area or Commission-controlled property or lake.
Hunter takes first deer at 77 years old

Goza is 77, and the button buck he took recently allowed him to receive the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s certificate for “My First Deer.”
