Datto Access on Black River to see increased parking, new name

June 7, 2017

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will hold a special dedication ceremony at the Datto Access on the Black River near Pocahontas at 2 p.m., June 13. The Commission recently accepted a donation of one-and-a-half acres bordering the access to increase parking and enable more hunters and anglers to enjoy Dave Donaldson Black River Wildlife Management Area. The donation came from Harold “Blue” Riggan of Corning.

AGFC commissioner meeting notice

Cave City Sharpshooters, Berryville juniors win AYSSP state titles

Despite a nervous semifinal round and a serious case of deja vu, the Cave City Sharpshooters took the AYSSP state chamionship in tight competition June 3 at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville.

Arkansas Outdoors Newsletter renamed Arkansas Wildlife Weekly

 Regular readers of Arkansas Outdoors will notice a new name and look to this newsletter, which has provided updates about the AGFC's actions for decades. Arkansas Outdoors will now be delivered under the name Arkansas Wildlife Weekly to complement the AGFC’s award-winning magazine and television show. 

CWD Management Zone expands to include Van Buren County

Van Buren County is the latest area to be placed under special wildlife regulations to curb the spread of chronic wasting disease, as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission added it to the official CWD Management Zone.

Family Fishing Day at Lake Bentonville Rescheduled

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's Family Fishing Day scheduled for this weekend has been rescheduled for June 17 at 9 a.m. until noon. Event coordinators decided to postpone the event because of weather forecasts predicting a 90 percent chance of thunderstorms and rain this Saturday.

Changes made to WMA Deer Hunt Permit application process
