Valley Springs takes Arkansas high school archery championship; Charleston dominates elementary and middle school divisions

HOT SPRINGS — Valley Springs High School took the top spot in the High School Division of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Archery in the Schools State Championship held Saturday at Bank OZK Arena. Charleston claimed first place in both the Elementary and Middle School divisions, which were held Friday at the same location.
AGFC, UAPB to present trout research at Greers Ferry Tailwater plan meeting March 21

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will present results of recent research on the wild brown trout fishery in the Greers Ferry Tailwater at 6 p.m. March 21. The presentation will be part of the regular meeting of the Arkansas Fly Fishers and will be held at the AGFC Little Rock Headquarters Auditorium at 2 Natural Resources Drive in Little Rock. Anyone interested in fishing on the tailwater is welcome to attend.
AGFC, PRADCO team up for online bass fishing seminar series

FORT SMITH — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has partnered with PRADCO, the parent company of Booyah, YUM, Bomber and many other popular fishing tackle brands to host a special lineup of fishing seminars this spring devoted to catching more and bigger bass in The Natural State. The first of these workshops is 6-7 p.m. March 10, and is focused on the most productive techniques and lures for fishing before the spawn begins in late March.

BENTONVILLE — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be one of many conservation agencies participating in the Backcountry Hunters and Anglers Inaugural Black Bear Bonanza from 9 a.m-5 p.m. this Saturday at the Benton County Quail Barn in Northwest Arkansas.
