Second public workshop for Spring River trout plan March 21

MAMMOTH SPRING — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a second public workshop at the Mammoth Spring School Complex from 10 a.m. until noon Dec. 21 to talk about a new trout management plan specific to the Spring River. The Complex is at 410 Goldsmith Ave. in Mammoth Spring.

According to the recently released 2019 Arkansas Tournament Information Program Annual Report, south Arkansas lakes such as Lake Columbia, Lake Erling and Millwood Lake had the best overall rankings among Arkansas bass tournament results last year.

Alpena’s balanced scoring leads to Senior ANASP title

HOT SPRINGS – Alpena High School came into the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program state tournament as the top scoring team from February’s Senior Division regional competitions. Alpena’s balanced scoring among team members held up again Saturday, March 7, in winning a state championship by 12 points over Valley Springs High School and 36 other competing teams.

North Arkansas resident honored at 7th annual AGFC Enforcement Awards

LITTLE ROCK – An Arkansas resident of Midway, near Mountain Home, was the first civilian honored in the seven years of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Enforcement Awards. The honorees, including 10 AGFC enforcement officers, were feted Tuesday, March 3, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in west Little Rock.

Archery State Tournament set for Friday-Saturday in Hot Springs

HOT SPRINGS – Thirty-six teams in each of three divisions – elementary school, middle school and senior – once again converge at Hot Springs’ Bank OZK Arena Friday and Saturday to determine individual and team champions in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program state tournament.
