Landowner meetings clear way for wildlife habitat enhancement

EL DORADO — Landowners and representatives from timber companies, non-profit organizations and state agencies representing more than 1.1 million acres of private land in southern Arkansas collaborated during June workshops in Hope and El Dorado to improve habitat for turkey, quail and other wildlife in Arkansas.

Battle with 200-ton green monster on Lake Wallace continues

DERMOTT — Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists are battling a beast of a problem at Lake Wallace in Drew County, and it’s a fight that’s raged since 2005. That’s when water hyacinth, an invasive plant that overruns everything in its path, was first discovered in the southeast Arkansas lake. 

2019 Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame only a few weeks away

AGFC to host meeting on management of Bull Shoals and Norfork tailwaters

MOUNTAIN HOME - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will update all interested anglers about trout management and habitat work on the Bull Shoals and Norfork tailwaters  in northern Arkansas at a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m., Aug.15. The meeting will be held at the Arkansas State University Mountain Home Campus in the McMullin Lecture Hall (Room D200) of Dryer Hall.
