LITTLE ROCK – For the second consecutive year, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will offer the public a dove hunt on private land through a permit process. The application process will be available at https://ar-web.s3licensing.com/ from 8 a.m. Aug. 8 until midnight Aug. 22.

AGFC adds 975 acres to Cypress Bayou WMA

BEEBE - Thanks to a partnership with The Trust for Public Land and the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has added 975 acres of access for hunters to Cypress Bayou Wildlife Management Area in White County, boosting that WMA to approximately 2,638 acres of publicly accessible wildlife habitat.

Aquatic vegetation greets Forrest Wood Cup anglers on Ouachita

HOT SPRINGS - August can be a brutal time to bass fish on a clear-water lake in Arkansas, but hopes are high that 56 anglers competing in the Forrest Wood Cup, Aug. 10-12, will crack the code and bring some impressive weights to the scales. The Cup is the championship event for the Fishing League Worldwide bass fishing tour, one of the largest professional fishing organizations in the country.

Youth Fishing Derby Slated During Forrest Wood Cup

HOT SPRINGS - Youths are invited to a special derby in conjuction with the Forrest Wood Cup at Hot Springs Family Park at 8 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11. The event is open to anyone 18 and under and any Special Olympics participants of any age.

LITTLE ROCK – August is “National Shooting Sports Month” and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be participating in the event at both the Dr. James E. Moore Jr. Camp Robinson Firing Range in Mayflower and the Rick Evans Grandview Prairie Shotgun Range near Hope.

AGFC air drops waterfowl habitat on Millwood Lake

SARATOGA - Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists increased the food available to wintering waterfowl on Millwood Lake last Friday with a special air delivery of Japanese millet around 500 acres along the edge of the lake.
