AGFC, AEDC offer nearly $770,000 for education grants from wildlife fines

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Division of Rural Services has more than $769,000 to give to Arkansas schools and educators for conservation education programs in the 2021-22 school year, thanks to fines derived from wildlife violations. Educators in every county are encouraged to apply for grants by the Oct. 26 application deadline to make use of these free dollars for education.

Olympic silver medalist honored at shooting clinic

JACKSONVILLE — The 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo may be over, but Arkansas’s own Kayle Browning is still making an impact in her home state. The Greenbrier native who took a silver medal in international trap shooting was honored at a special ceremony Saturday at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex and worked with budding shooting sports enthusiasts in a special shooting clinic presented by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Dr. Doyne and Nancy Williams Endowment funds ‘Champion’ scholarship

Westside Seniors, Corning Juniors win shooting sports state titles

Program championship to the traditionally strong trap-shooting club in the northeast part of the state with a convincing win in last Saturday’s title match, outshooting rival and top-seed Harrisburg Team 2 by 10 clays at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation’s Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

Shooting Sports championships will be determined Friday, Saturday

JACKSONVILLE – Harrisburg’s Trap Team, which was four shots from perfection during its winning performance in the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program’s East Region Senior Tournament on May 1, will go into the AYSSP’s State Championship this Saturday as one of four top seeds and, based on that May 1 showing, the heavy favorite to win the championship.

Nashville takes control at AYSSP South Regional tournament

JACKSONVILLE – Nashville continued its winning ways at the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program South Region tournament Saturday at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex. Scrapper Senior 1 posted an impressive 231 of 250 to take first place in the senior division. 

Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Season Canceled

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has canceled the upcoming season of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program due to concerns stemming from the current coronavirus status in the United States. All regional shoots, as well as the 2020 AYSSP State Championship, have been canceled.
