AGFC doubles bounty on Lake Conway rewards

MAYFLOWER — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is doubling down on its “Cash In on Conway” fishing promotion, increasing the prize money for each tagged fish from $500 to $1,000.

Russ Hannah caught this nice brown trout on a guppie pattern while fishing with Spring River guide Mark Crawford recently. The Spring River, though spring-fed, has been low like most of Arkansas's lakes and streams lately, but the fish are biting.

HOT SPRINGS — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Fishing Education Program is joining forces with USA Bass and USAngling to put on a special youth fishing education event during the upcoming 2023 Pan American Bass Fishing Championship 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery on Lake Hamilton.
