LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will hold its monthly meeting beginning at 9 a.m., Aug. 20. The meeting will be live-streamed to the AGFC’s YouTube page as well as its website, www.agfc.com.

Arkansas Hunter Education sees online expansion

LITTLE ROCK — Thanks to a new policy at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, any Arkansas resident 10 or older may complete all components of their Hunter Education requirement online to be ready for the upcoming hunting season this year.

AGFC graduates new class of wildlife officers

MAYFLOWER – One dozen new wildlife officers will be hitting the fields and forests of The Natural State this summer, after graduating from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s training program. The graduation ceremony took place July 31 at the H.C. “Red” Morris Enforcement Training Center off Arkansas Highway 89.

With organized sports, spectator-fueled events and formal schools being shuffled to the side to slow the spread of the virus, time in the outdoors seems to have become a rediscovered gem to many people looking to escape cabin fever during self-imposed quarantines. Rods, reels, canoes, kayaks, mountain bikes and all other sorts of outdoors equipment has flown off shelves so quickly that manufacturers have been unable to keep up with demand.

AGFC sets Veteran/Active Duty Military Waterfowl Hunt, Arkansas waterfowl season dates clarified

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission unanimously approved the addition of the veteran’s/active duty military waterfowl hunt to Arkansas’s youth waterfowl hunt days during today’s regularly scheduled meeting. This is the second consecutive year the Commission has approved the option since it was made available by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet Postponed Until 2021, ‘Super Silent’ Auction in the Works

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation announced last Thursday the annual Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet, scheduled for August 29 in Little Rock, would not be held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s inductees and award recipients will be moved to 2021.
