Millwood Lake in southwestern Arkansas is widely known for behemoth largemouth bass, but anglers lately have found some behemoth crappie, too. Eddie McPherson from near Greenbrier landed this serious slab, while his friend Jim Elliot took the picture as they fished with guide Mike Siefert last week.

Taylor Goodman sent us this photo of his wife and the monster rainbow trout she caught on Saturday on the Norfork tailwater. The Goodmans didn't have official scales on hand and the fish was ready to return to the water, so they got no weight. But the fish was 30-plus inches in length with a girth of about 20 inches, allowing them to estimate this fish at about 18 pounds.

Guide Mike Winker took an angler named Lawrence (no last name provided) after the rains of Wednesday onto the Little Red River, where Lawrance landed this nice brown trout. Winkler said that even with the high water on the Little Red, he's finding nice fishing opportunities for his anglers by fishing streamers.

Jim Harsch from Fort Smith was looking for bass along with his guide, Mike Siefert of Millwood Lake Guide Service, earlier this week, but it turned out the Millwood crappie liked lizards as well as the bass did.

Randy Plyler, a fishing guide out of Arkadelphia and a regular contributor to the AGFC's Weekly Fishing Report, recently hauled in this 15.8-pound drum while fishing on Lake Ouachita, "the biggest drum I've ever caught. Had me excited for a minute," he said. The qualification for drum in the AGFC's Master Angler Program starts at 12 pounds, which puts Plyler in that category. The state record for drum is 45 pounds, 7 ounces caught in Lake Wilson in 2004.
