LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission works with landowners to reserve areas specially managed for dove hunts throughout the state. Hunting spots in these areas are managed by random drawing, with applications costing only $5. Hunters drawn may bring one friend to hunt from their position as well.

LITTLE ROCK — An additional region of the state, the southwest quadrant, will be served this dove season by the addition of a private field in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s private-land permit dove hunting program.
Northeast Arkansas field joins list for permitted dove hunts

JONESBORO – Dove hunters will have more than 300 acres of privately owned farmland available via drawn permit for the early weeks of Arkansas’s 2020 dove season, which opens Saturday, Sept. 5. Several regions of the state have been represented by the private land permit hunts in the past three years since the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission initiated the program, but this year will mark the first time a northeast Arkansas field has been part of the roster.
Leftover WMA Deer Hunting Permits available July 14

LITTLE ROCK – Nearly 200 leftover WMA deer hunt permits for Arkansas wildlife management areas will be available for purchase beginning 8 a.m., Tuesday, July 14. These permits cover modern gun, muzzleloader and mobility-impaired hunts that weren’t awarded through the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s annual WMA deer permit drawing earlier this month.

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has opened the application period to hunt deer on some of the more popular wildlife management areas it manages until July 1. Hunters interested in pursuing white-tailed deer during this fall’s permit-only hunts may apply online at www.agfc.com.
Leftover WMA turkey hunt permits available online Feb. 28

LITTLE ROCK – If you didn’t draw a wildlife management area turkey hunt permit during the regular drawing, there’s still a chance to get a spot to hunt some of Arkansas’s most popular WMAs. All leftover permits will be available at www.agfc.com on a first-come, first-served online sale beginning 8 a.m., Feb. 28.
Arkansans harvest 84 alligators in 2019

LITTLE ROCK — Lasting heat of summer and stable conditions paid off for Arkansas hunters lucky enough to draw a tag in the 2019 alligator season. Of 147 tags available, 84 hunters managed to successfully take an alligator during the two-weekend season.
