LITTLE ROCK – If you want to hunt on some of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s most popular deer-hunting destinations this fall, you’ll want to apply for a special WMA deer hunt from June 1 until July 1.  
 

Arkansas private land elk hunting simplified for 2018 season

JASPER – Twenty-nine lucky hunters will find out if their application for an Arkansas elk permit was successful at the Buffalo River Elk Festival, June 23. Biologists are trying to make it easier for the rest of us wanting to take an Arkansas elk who are willing to put in a little legwork and handshaking to make it happen. Beginning May 15, Private Land Elk Permits will be available on www.agfc.com.
 

Elk permit application period opens May 1

LITTLE ROCK – If you want to go after an Arkansas elk, circle May 1 on your calendar. That’s the beginning of the application period for public land permits next fall in the Buffalo River country of northwest Arkansas.
 

White River Refuge seeks comments on proposed hunting permit fee increase

ST. CHARLES – Dale Bumpers White River national Wildlife Refuge is seeking public comments on a proposal to increase its permit fee from $12.50 to $25, and expand it to include all hunting, fishing camping and boating access on a yearly basis.

Leftover WMA deer hunt permits available online Sept. 26

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has many WMA draw hunt permits that were not drawn during the regular drawing period that will be available in a first-come, first-served online sale beginning at 8 a.m., Sept. 26. 

New permit hunt increases dove hunting options

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is cranking up the opportunities for public-land hunters to enjoy the unofficial kick off to hunting season – dove hunting. In addition to fields prepared on wildlife management areas, the AGFC is offering drawn permit hunts on a leased private field in Lonoke County to increase people’s chances at enjoying a traditional dove hunt this year.
