AGFC confirms mountain lion sighting near Mammoth Spring

MAMMOTH SPRING – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission confirmed the sighting of a mountain lion near Mammoth Spring in northern Arkansas. A game camera photo of a mountain lion was taken in January and sent to the AGFC earlier this month. Biologists were able to verify the photo and its location.

This 27-inch German Brown trout was caught above Cotter on the Bull Shoals Lake tailwater this past week by a 13-year-old. That's some feat, and it turned out it wasn't even the biggest fish grabbed in that area. An Instagram photo circulated of a 34-inch brown caught and released as well. Fishing for all species is good around the state, perfect for a long weekend.

This smallmouth bass was caught on the lower Buffalo River using a quarter-ounce black Rooster Tail inline spinnerbait. It was returned to the waters and is waiting for another angler. Our reporter said the bite is good on the Buffalo River, while some excellent reports on largemouth bass and stripers came from several areas.
