Additional CWD not detected in Union County

STRONG – After a hunter-harvested white-tailed deer taken in Union County tested positive for chronic wasting disease in December, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has confirmed that no additional sampled deer had been detected with the disease.

Wild game plays well into Cajun dishes due to the vast array of wild game found in the swamps of south Louisiana. Although jambalaya is a more traditional Cajun dish, pastalya uses pasta instead of rice. This easy one-pot meal can serve a crowd and can easily be whipped up on a weeknight.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The National Wild Turkey Federation at its 46th annual national convention Feb. 18, presented Jason Mitchell, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife biologist, with the Joe Kurz Wildlife Manager of the Year Award, for his outstanding management of wild turkeys and wildlife habitat management.

Commission approves construction; recognizes excellence in AGFC employees

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission approved just over $2 million in capital construction projects spread throughout Arkansas at today’s regularly scheduled meeting in Little Rock. These projects will be funded from within the existing budget for Fiscal Year 2022 and range in size from fishing pier construction to hydrology studies for infrastructure renovation of George H. Dunklin Jr. Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area.

The bass bite has been excellent on Norfork Lake, as Lou Gabric reports out of Hummingbird Hideaway Resort. Wayne Walker (left) from Springfield, Missouri and Ray Carter from Harrisonville, Missouri, enjoyed the bass action on Norfork.
