Arkansas Wildlife Weekly Fishing Report

Spring River guide Mark Crawford is excited about the smallmouth bass action that's going on on the Spring. Mark guided Chuck Lajeunesse to a nice smallie this past week. The Spring is almost at its average flow. He says, “The smallies are biting but they have been down deep in the deeper pools. Gotta work the bottom slow with a sink tip or heavy fly. Gonna hang up a lot, so bring plenty of flies. The winter time can be the best time to catch a big smallie.”

And thanks to the habitat offered by waterfowl-focused programs in Arkansas, these birdwatchers have more than 3,800-acres of private land to enjoy their passion through the end of winter.
