Habitat condition reports at WMAs and GTRs begin next week

The Waterfowl Report will begin reporting water and habitat conditions from the AGFC’s Wildlife Management Areas and greentree reservoirs on a weekly basis beginning with the report on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Disabled veterans enjoy deer hunt weekend in southeast Arkansas

ARKANSAS CITY – For the third straight year, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the national organization Freedom Defender Outdoors were able to provide a special weekend of modern gun deer hunting and bonding for disabled veterans. Five veterans were invited to a permit deer hunt at the Freddie Black Choctaw Island Wildlife Management Area West Unit the weekend of Oct. 25-27.

The bigt crappie have been biting well, as Joe Cebula of Olathe, Kansas, and Bart Smith of Marion, Indiana, discovered on a trip last week to Norfork Lake. Also, the lake has turned over, meaning better fishing overall is ahead in the coming weeks.
