HUTTIG — Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Wildlife Management Division staff have been busy clearing and picking up the pieces of last year’s hurricane season and will be working well into the future thanks to the combined effects of straight-line winds and years of overbank flooding at Beryl Anthony Lower Ouachita Wildlife Management Area on the Arkansas-Louisiana state line.

DiCenzo to head up AGFC’s focus on bass management

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has selected Vic DiCenzo, a  veteran fisheries biologist with an additional background in human dimensions to lead its Black Bass Management Program as coordinator.  He and AGFC Black Bass Program Biologist Jeff Buckingham will serve statewide in the AGFC’s effort to focus on largemouth, spotted and smallmouth bass and the needs of anglers who enjoy them as a resource.

All-day waterfowl hunting open on WMAs Jan. 31

LITTLE ROCK — Duck hunters looking for a shot to finish the season on a high note will have one day to enjoy all-day hunting on all Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife management areas this year. On Jan. 31, duck hunters may hunt WMAs from 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset to wrap up Arkansas’s regular duck season.
